Job summary

Jobless is seeking a Project Manager for construction projects in Birmingham, AL. You will lead project teams, manage subcontractors and vendors, and maintain customer relationships to ensure projects are on schedule, within budget, and meet safety and quality standards.

Ideal candidates have a strong background in mechanical contracting, proven leadership, and hands-on experience with design-build and preconstruction processes. Travel is required to support multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Requires 5+ years in commercial construction PM, ideally HVAC/plumbing mechanical contracting.
• Design-build/preconstruction/design-assist experience preferred.
• Strong ability to interpret drawings, plans and specs.
• Excellent communication, organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with construction management software (Procore/PlanGrid/MS Project) and travel readiness.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall project leadership from preconstruction through closeout.
• Manage day-to-day project execution, resolving scope, schedule, cost and quality issues.
• Lead bidding, estimating, negotiations, and buyout activities.
• Establish and maintain budgets, cost controls and profit projections.
• Deliver professional communication with owners, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ensure adherence to company processes, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Review drawings/specs, identify risks, and guide the team through execution.
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, and document control.
• Prepare, review, and approve project change orders and pricing.
• Lead job start meetings, profit projection meetings, and closeout reviews.
• Develop and manage project schedules and manpower plans.
