Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a seasoned project leader to head capital-project efforts in a manufacturing environment, focusing on fiber and cable equipment and process upgrades.

You will develop scope, schedules, budgets, and coordinate multi-disciplinary teams across engineering, operations, and procurement. You will oversee change control, vendor selection, and resource planning while reporting to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Project Engineering.
• 7+ years managing complex projects in manufacturing equipment implementation and automation.
• Experience overseeing project equipment and processes.
• English language fluency.

Responsibilities

• Communicates project safety practices and ensures compliance by all personnel.
• Leads fiber and cable capacity and technology delivery projects.
• Develops budgets, writes purchase orders, approves changes, and tracks costs.
• Writes appropriations requests and secures approvals.
• Determines personnel requirements and leads recruitment for project team.
• Leads projects per Capital Process (Stage Gate) guidelines.
• Schedules and leads project team and steering team meetings.
• Uses rational decision-making for vendor selection and design decisions.
• Supervises project team members across disciplines and resolves conflicts.
• Develops project schedule and timelines and monitors status for compliance.
• Leads development of project scope and enforces scope-change processes.
• Summarizes progress and reports to leadership.
