Job summary

Corning is seeking a Construction Project Leader to drive equipment deployment, commissioning, and startup for Optical Communications manufacturing systems in North Carolina. You will lead capital projects ranging from $1M to $15M across domestic and international sites.

Responsibilities include field leadership, safety oversight, and coordinating with engineering teams to define and deliver technology. Travel to North Carolina sites and overseas locations is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Chemical Engineering.
• 5+ years leading capital manufacturing equipment projects or equivalent leadership experience.
• 4+ years documenting Scope of Work, Purchase Orders, and vendor management.
• 4+ years coordinating cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation phase including safety, scheduling and contractor management.
• Provide day-to-day tactical project oversight with a field-first focus.
• Lead project teams and coordinate with OFC Technology Development and Division Engineering.
• Communicate with plant area leaders and stakeholders.
• Manage deliverables, schedule, budgets, quality, and safety within scope.
