Job summary

MGE Underground in California is seeking an Associate Project Manager to organize and control all elements of a project, aiming to deliver a budgeted and successful project from conception to completion while satisfying all parties involved.

You will coordinate with Superintendents, assist in creating the baseline schedule, write proposals and RFIs, manage subcontractors, review timecards, and support billing and cash flow, all while upholding safety policies and standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• 3 years of verifiable utility construction management with a degree or 5 years without a degree.
• Valid Class C Driver’s License; clean driving record.
• Preferred: B.S. Degree in Civil, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Preferred: Experience in estimating.

Responsibilities

• Participate in all phases of the project cycle: pre-fielding, estimating, development, construction, billing, and final acceptance.
• Coordinate with Superintendents regarding daily schedules, manpower, equipment, materials, subcontractors, suppliers, etc.
• Assist in creating the baseline schedule from the job estimate.
• Write proposals, RFIs, and letters of intent.
• Schedule and attend pre-construction with Project Managers and Superintendents.
• Communicate with internal team, public officials, and customers regarding plans, issues, and timelines.
• Create sub-contract agreements and manage sub-contractors.
• Review daily timecards/quantities and generate master/field files.
• Assist with billings, WIP reports, forecasts, and project cash flow.
