Job summary

Great Southwestern Construction, Inc., a MYR Group Company, seeks an Assistant Project Manager II to oversee construction projects, ensure on-schedule delivery, and maintain safety, quality, and regulatory compliance. The APM II communicates with staff and clients and negotiates solutions to project challenges.

You will coordinate schedules, manage costs, prepare reports, and serve as the primary on-site contact.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in construction project experience.
• Experience with large-scale construction sites preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage completion of construction projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Ensure safety, quality and legal requirements and negotiate solutions for problems.
• Determine project schedule by studying plans, calculating time requirements and sequencing.
• Monitor progress and coordinate activities, resolving problems.
• Control project costs by reviewing budgets and expenditures; administer contracts.
• Serve as main on-site contact for project personnel.
• Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Schedule field walk-downs with customers and subcontractors; understand constructability.
• Prepare and submit change orders; maintain project database.
• Report regularly to management and maintain safe working environment.
