Job summary

Great Southwestern Construction is hiring an Assistant Project Manager II to help direct field projects, coordinate with staff and clients, and keep work on schedule. You will monitor safety, quality, and compliance while assisting with budgeting and change orders.

The role reports to Operations or District management and requires 3+ years in construction, a civil or construction-related degree, and strong communication and problem-solving skills. Travel to job sites may be required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of project experience in the construction industry.
• Experience with large-scale construction sites preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Manage completion of construction projects by organizing and controlling project elements.
• Ensure safety, quality, and legal compliance; negotiate solutions for problems.
• Determine project schedule by studying project plan and specifications, calculating time requirements, and sequencing project elements.
• Monitor progress and coordinate activities to keep the project on schedule.
• Review design, specifications, and plan; schedule changes and actions.
• Prepare look-ahead documents and weekly/monthly progress reports and billing information.
• Prepare project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends; recommend actions.
• Maintain project database; enter and back up data.
