Job summary

Turner Construction Company seeks an on-site Intern/Co-Op to assist with day-to-day activities on an active construction project. You will gain foundational knowledge in construction management, business and project financial management, safety protocols, and coordination across trades while supporting project engineers, superintendents, and managers.

Responsibilities include coordinating meetings, tracking materials, preparing progress reports, and ensuring compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in an accredited degree program and at least 1 year completed
• Desire to learn construction management and related fields
• Must be 18+ to work on site
• Able to work standard hours and overtime as needed
• Strong verbal and written English communication skills
• Able to read and understand written information
• Proactive, curious, and eager to learn
• Able to work independently or in a team
• Excellent organizational skills

Responsibilities

• Assist project team with meeting coordination, material tracking, file management, and progress reporting
• Follow site safety protocols and wear PPE
• Provide progress reports to supervisor and learn construction management basics
• Maintain professional relationships with employees, clients, and subcontractors
• Participate in training, meetings, and orientation
• Assist with project start-up activities and support Project Engineer/Manager
• Help collect and review information for shop drawings, submittals, and RFIs
• Draft information for contract requirements and client communications
• Assist with estimates for changes in work from subcontractors
• Attend site visits to document field activities
• Communicate with Architects, Engineers, vendors, and subcontractors as directed
• Support Trades and subcontractors with scheduling information
• Monitor contractor compliance with Turner’s safety program
• Assist with quantity take-offs and learning to use traditional or computer-aided tools
• Request and distribute subcontractor proposals for delivery systems
• Assist with project close-out preparations
