Mortenson’s Data Center Solutions Team is seeking a Project Operations Accountant to provide accounting, analysis, and financial support to one or more construction project teams. This role serves as the key liaison from Finance to the project team and will help ensure accurate cost tracking, billing, and reporting.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3 years of accounting experience, preferably in construction accounting, with strong Excel and ERP system skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business administration
• Detail orientation and organizational skills to support multiple projects
• Construction-related exposure and knowledge of percentage of completion accounting and contracts
• Minimum 3 years accounting experience, preferably construction accounting
• Experience supporting large teams and stakeholders
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP systems like Textura and Oracle
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized work style

Responsibilities

• Review contract requirements, allocate budgets, and manage payroll reporting.
• Process receivables, prepare cost-plus billings, and ensure timely payments.
• Process payables, vendor setup, subcontracts, and cost tracking.
• Analyze project costs and prepare reports for project management.
• Report labor costs and verify certified payroll data.
• Assist with audits and year-end procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
