Job summary

Align is seeking an Assistant Financial Controller to lead financial management for data center construction projects. You will oversee accounting, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, partnering with project management and operations to ensure profitability.

The role requires construction accounting expertise, Procore and Sage Intacct experience, and a strong GAAP background. Travel and advanced training are included as part of a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
• 5-8+ years of progressively responsible accounting experience.
• Minimum 3 years of construction project accounting experience.
• Strong knowledge of job costing, WIP reporting, percentage-of-completion accounting, revenue recognition, retainage accounting, construction draw processes, project forecasting.
• Advanced experience with Procore and Sage Intacct and/or Sage Construction Management.
• Experience supporting monthly close and financial statement preparation.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Prepare and review financial statements, supporting schedules, and management reporting packages.
• Ensure GAAP compliance and company accounting policies.
• Support external audits, tax filings, and lender reporting requirements.
• Assist in developing and maintaining accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
• Oversee accounting activities for multiple active construction projects.
• Manage project setup, cost coding, budget controls, and contract administration.
• Monitor and analyze job costs, commitments, change orders, cost-to-complete forecasts, and WIP schedules.
• Support percentage-of-completion revenue recognition and project closeout activities.
• Review subcontractor invoices, payment applications, lien waivers, retainage, and compliance documentation.
