Job summary

Superior is seeking an experienced Construction Project Estimator for on-site work in Indianapolis, Indiana. The role focuses on interpreting drawings, pricing change orders, and performing takeoffs to support project operations and field teams.

The ideal candidate will have proven electrical estimating experience, strong knowledge of electrical systems, and proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, Trimble, or Bluebeam. A related Construction Systems Management degree is a plus.

Qualifications

• Experience as an Electrical Project Estimator in construction or related field.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems and installations methods.
• Proficient in estimating software (Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam or similar).

Responsibilities

• Read and understand contract drawings and project specifications.
• Review RFIs, bulletins, and field directives to identify scope changes.
• Perform quantity takeoffs based on updated drawings and field conditions.
• Develop scopes of work for change orders, including labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor requirements.
• Support change order pricing using labor units, historical data, and field-verified productivity.
• Coordinate with field teams to validate installation methods and production rates.
• Track and document change events from identification through resolution.
• Maintain an up-to-date change order log, including pending, approved, and disputed items.
• Prepare clear and organized cost backup for change order submissions.
• Assist in identifying schedule impacts related to scope changes.
• Support time-and-material tracking, including field tickets and installed quantities.
• Collaborate with project management and partners to ensure alignment.

Description

Position: Project Estimator

Reports to: Program Executive

Location: Indianapolis, Indiana

Salary Range: $100,000 - $140,000

Superior is looking for a Project Estimator who will be responsible for interpreting drawings, reading specifications, change order pricing, and perform takeoffs on certain items. The Project Estimator operates primarily in the field and requires close coordination with project operations, field supervision, subcontractors, and clients to ensure all scope changes and impacts are captured, documented, and aligned with project goals. This role is based on a jobsite in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Your Expertise

• Required: You have proven experience as an Electrical Project Estimator in construction, contracting, or a related field
• Required: You have strong knowledge of electrical systems, installations methods, and industry standards
• Required: You are proficient in estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, Bluebeam, or similar)
• Bonus Points: You have earned an associate or bachelor’s degree in Construction Systems Management or a related field
