Job summary

Traffic Management Solutions is seeking a Project Engineer in Tampa, FL to bridge estimating, engineering, and field operations on construction projects. You will translate bid documents into purchase orders, subcontracts, shop drawings, and material procurement while coordinating with engineers, contractors, and project managers to keep schedules and budgets on track.

Responsibilities include cost estimation, change order management, document control, and frequent field visits to resolve

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Experience in project engineering within the construction industry.
• Ability to read and interpret FDOT construction plans.
• Strong knowledge of project coordination, cost estimation, and change order management.
• Familiarity with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project and Primavera P6.

Responsibilities

• Assist PMs in coordination across departments.
• Transition of Estimating processes.
• Involved in material procurement from purchasing to release.
• Invoicing (monthly billing) and A/R tasks.
• Approve invoices from subs/vendors (A/P).
• Understand project scope, budget, and deadlines.
• Review plans, perform take-offs, and establish quantities for materials.
• Manage document controls and project communications.
• Develop and transmit project correspondence (RFI, RFM, etc.).
• Prepare and manage cost estimations, budgets, and change orders.
• Frequent field visits to resolve field issues and verify progress.
• Coordinate with designers, contractors, and subcontractors to resolve technical issues.
• Use MS Project/Primavera to track progress and report status.
