Job summary

MedTeam Staffing is seeking a Project Engineer for heavy civil highway and bridge work in the Tampa Bay area. You will support project management and field operations on roadway, drainage and infrastructure projects, with significant field exposure.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in heavy civil, with strong RFI/submittal/documentation skills. FDOT or DOT experience is a plus; relocation to Tampa is welcome, and a clear path to Project Manager is highlighted.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of engineering experience on heavy civil, highway, road, bridge, drainage or utility projects.
• Strong RFI, submittal, documentation, cost tracking and schedule exposure.
• Ability to read plans, specs and contract documents.
• FDOT or other DOT project experience is a plus.
• Primavera P6, HCSS or Bluebeam experience is a plus.
• EIT or PE is a plus.
• Tampa Bay candidates preferred; relocation welcome.

Responsibilities

• Support project managers and superintendents on active heavy civil projects.
• Handle RFIs, submittals, drawings, transmittals, approvals and project documentation.
• Track cost, quantities, production, materials, equipment and schedule updates.
• Schedule work activities and material deliveries with the field team.
• Assist with budgets, forecasts, cost reports and change orders.
• Communicate with owners, subcontractors, vendors, field crews and project leadership.
• Review drawings, specifications and contract documents.
• Spend 20 to 30 percent of your time in the field, seeing the work get built.
• Support safety, quality and contract compliance.
