Job summary

Clark Construction Group in McLean, VA seeks a Project Engineer to drive technical tasks, coordinate between clients, trade partners, engineers, architects, and staff. You will plan, schedule, predict, and manage resources for project lifecycle.

The role emphasizes collaboration, scheduling, cost control, and documentation across the project team, with emphasis on safety and quality on active construction sites.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field.
• 2+ years experience as engineer/project engineer in construction.
• Knowledge of scheduling, cost engineering, subcontract coordination, and admin tasks.
• Ability reading drawings and specifications.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers on scoping and take-offs.
• Prepare submittals and ensure compliance with plans/specs.
• Support development and updating of project schedules.
• Lead the development of project plans.
• Monitor material deliveries and align with the schedule.
• Review change proposals and negotiate outcomes.
• Coordinate drawings with PM and Superintendent.
• Draft change orders and solicit prices from subs.
• Lead project close-out and turnover documentation.
• Develop and lead training sessions for teams.
• Oversee document management systems and workflows.
• Build industry relationships to generate opportunities.
• Support talent recruitment efforts for Clark.
• Exceed stakeholders' expectations by proactive communication.
