Job summary

TRL Systems, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in Long Beach to support the Project Management Team in planning and daily execution for high-density residential and mixed-use construction.

The role requires coordinating RFIs, submittals, and logs, assisting with job setup and subcontractor administration, and helping manage safety, quality programs, and close-out documentation. Strong communication and scheduling skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of project engineer experience or other construction related trade experience.
• Proficient in English, written and verbal.

Responsibilities

• Assist in logging, controlling and distribution of contract drawings.
• Support initial set-up of the job management system.
• Assist with preparation of subcontractor scopes of work, bid packages and distribution and the identification of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support constructability reviews of various forms construction documentation.
• Assist development and implementation of site utilization plan.
• Review and coordinate Project Safety, Loss Prevention and Quality Control programs with Project Manager/Superintendent.
• Schedule pre-work subcontractor orientation meetings; circulate agendas and complete documentation for each subcontractor.
• Prepare, update and circulate submittal and RFI logs; manage distribution of drawings to subcontractors and teams; process submittal data and shop drawings to meet schedules.
• Coordinate and verify subcontractor deliveries meet submittal requirements.
• Attend meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives; assist in progress reports/minutes.
• Forecast and control project expenses; assist owner and subcontractor billings.
• Assist with general office tasks to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Distribute change documents to subcontractors; assist in pricing and change proposal requests.
• Assist subcontractors/suppliers with training and required documentation.
• Prepare close-out documentation and as-built drawings.
