Job summary

TRC is seeking an Assistant Resident Engineer for Southern California transportation projects. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' experience in heavy civil construction and the ability to supervise field activities, coordinate with project staff, and liaise with clients and regulatory agencies.

The candidate should have a California Professional Engineer license (preferred) and be proficient with MS Office, Procore, and project documentation processes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years' experience on heavy civil construction projects
• Ability to direct and supervise field construction activities
• Strong liaison and coordination with owners/clients/contractors/regulators
• Knowledge of Cal-OSHA and ADA requirements

Responsibilities

• Assist the Resident Engineer in oversight of construction projects
• Collaborate with Project Managers and field teams for project execution
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and issues
• Prepare, respond to and review RFIs, submittals, shop drawings and change orders
• Support project closeout with as-built documentation and warranties
