Job summary

Buckeye Construction & Restoration is seeking a Construction Project Engineer to support Project Managers and Estimators through all project phases in Kingsport, TN. The role focuses on staying on budget, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high quality standards across masonry, concrete, and steel projects.

You will assist in developing plans, estimates, and documentation while coordinating with clients and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Education: Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management, or a related field is desired, but not required if management experience exceeds a minimum of (2) years.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Organizational Skills: Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
• Analytical Thinking: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Project Managers and Estimators to understand requirements, goals, and constraints; assist in developing plans, schedules and budgets.
• Estimate quantities and costs for materials, labor hours, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Prepare and maintain project documentation: plans, specs, as-builts, shop drawings, and reports.
• Facilitate communication among clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams; coordinate activities and resources.
• Provide technical expertise and cost analysis; assist in vendor/subcontractor selection.
• Monitor progress to ensure adherence to quality standards and requirements; perform inspections as needed.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; contribute to contingency planning.
• Participate in post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and drive improvements.
