Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support planning and execution of complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role bridges field operations and project management, ensuring accurate documentation, coordination, and technical support across the project lifecycle.

Working with Project Managers and Superintendents, you will manage day-to-day operations, maintain documentation, and help drive cost, schedule, and quality outcomes in

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–3 years of construction experience; internship experience strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review drawings, specifications, and submittals to support project execution.
• Identify and help resolve discrepancies or conflicts in construction documents.
• Prepare and manage project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, change orders, and closeout materials.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date document control logs and project records.
• Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, and design teams to support progress.
• Track and report on project status, including costs, schedules, and milestones.
• Support field operations through site visits, inspections, and coordination as needed.
