Job summary

Ajax Building Company is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support the planning and execution of complex construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role bridges field operations and project management by ensuring accurate documentation, coordination, and technical support throughout the lifecycle of the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–3 years of construction experience; internship strongly preferred.
• Working knowledge of construction methods, materials, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong computer skills with industry tools.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents and perform basic quantity takeoffs.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and review drawings, specifications, and submittals to support project execution.
• Identify and help resolve discrepancies or conflicts in construction documents.
• Prepare and manage project documentation including RFIs, submittals, change orders, PO, and closeout materials.
• Maintain accurate project records and document control logs.
• Coordinate with project teams to support project progress.
• Track and report on costs, schedules, and milestones.
• Support field operations through site visits and inspections.
