Job summary

RBA Builders LLC in Fountain Valley, CA is seeking a motivated Project Engineer who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with teams, and learning how commercial construction projects come together. You’ll support project planning, coordination, and execution across office and job sites.

Work closely with experienced project managers and superintendents, gain hands-on experience, and contribute to safety, quality, and on-time project delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field.
• 1–2+ years of construction/engineering experience; internship or co-op preferred.
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings, scopes, and specs.
• Foundational understanding of construction methods, materials, and practices.
• Strong written and verbal communication; collaborative and eager to learn.
• Proficiency with MS Office and construction management software such as Procore; Bluebeam is a plus.
• Dependable, punctual, and professional attitude.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with planning, coordination, and day-to-day activities.
• Gain exposure to field operations, methods, and project types.
• Review drawings, specifications, reports, and other documents.
• Assist with submittals, shop drawings, document control, and logs.
• Help track change orders, costs, procurement, and schedules.
• Support estimating by preparing bid packages and reviewing scopes.
• Collaborate with project managers on execution and closeout.
• Communicate with subcontractors, architects, clients, and team members.
• Contribute to site safety procedures, documentation, and compliance.
• Stay organized while managing multiple assignments and deadlines.

• Afoundationalunderstandingofconstructionmethods,materials,andindustrypractices.
• Strongwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillsandawillingnesstocollaborateandlearn.
