Job summary

Mill Creek Residential seeks a Project Engineer to support the Project Management Team in planning and daily execution on high-density residential and mixed-use construction projects in Phoenix, AZ. The role reports to the Senior Project Engineer and PMs, handling RFIs, submittals, logs, and timelines to keep projects on schedule.

Ideal candidates have an Associate or Bachelor’s in Construction Management or related field and 2+ years of project engineer or related experience.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Engineering or other related field.
• A minimum of 2 years of project engineer experience or other construction related trade experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in logging, controlling and distributing contract drawings.
• Support the initial set-up of the job management system.
• Assist with subcontractor scopes of work and bid package development and distribution and the identification and solicitation of subcontractors and suppliers.
• Support the process of constructability reviews of various forms construction documentation.
• Develop and implement the site utilization plan.
• Review and coordinate the Project Safety and Loss Prevention and Quality Control Program with PM/Superintendent.
• Schedule pre-work subcontractor orientation meetings and circulate agendas; document materials deliveries and safety/quality issues.
• Prepare, update and circulate submittal and RFI logs; coordinate and maintain logs of drawings to subcontractors and teams; process all submittal data and shop drawings.
• Ensure subcontractor deliveries meet approved submittal requirements.
• Attend meetings with Architect/Engineer and owner representatives; assist in progress reports/minutes.
• Forecast and help control project expenses; support owner and subcontractor billings process.
• Assist with various office tasks to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
• Distribute proposed change documents and assist in collecting pricing and preparing change proposals for pricing review.
• Support subcontractors in scheduling owner-required training and documentation.
• Assist in preparing project close-out documentation and as-built drawings.
