Job summary

Brick Staffing, LLC is seeking a Construction Engineer to manage and coordinate construction projects from planning through closeout. You will work with Architects, Trade Partners, Consultants, and Owners to resolve issues, review plans, and ensure adherence to budgets and schedules.

Responsibilities include submittal management, meetings coordination, change-order processing, and maintaining project documentation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of construction engineering principles, scheduling, estimating, procurement, and basic construction accounting.
  • Understanding of materials, systems, market conditions, and trade partner practices.
  • Ability to interpret contracts, drawings, specs, scopes of work, and schedules.
  • Basic estimating ability to analyze project documentation.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement processes.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Architects, Trade Partners, Consultants, Suppliers, Inspectors, Owner Representatives, and project teams to resolve issues related to construction plans, specifications, and project requirements.
  • Participate in constructability reviews during preconstruction and assist with planning, estimating, and cost development.
  • Apply knowledge of building codes, industry standards, and project requirements to support successful project execution.
  • Prepare scopes of work and documentation to clearly communicate expectations to trade partners.
  • Manage submittals, shop drawings, and related documentation while ensuring compliance with contract specifications.
  • Coordinate trade partner meetings, preconstruction meetings, and submittal review meetings.
  • Analyze and manage project scope changes, including change order documentation, negotiations, cost reviews, approvals, and resolution of conflicts.
  • Review contract drawings and specifications to ensure alignment with project estimates and construction requirements.
  • Support project budget management, cost tracking, and allocation processes.
  • Generate and maintain project reports, including general conditions, labor tracking, safety documentation, change order logs, and quality control records.
  • Assist with implementation of engineering procedures, processes, checklists, and technology improvements.
  • Stay current on emerging construction technologies, systems, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in project kickoff activities and maintain oversight of project engineering processes throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Assist with identifying project risks and developing mitigation strategies.
  • Contribute recommendations and best practices related to scheduling, budgeting, quality control, and overall project execution.
  • Oversee project closeout activities and ensure completion of required documentation, including RFIs, warranties, as-built drawings, O&M manuals, closeout records, attic stock, and spare parts.
  • Manage project documentation storage and retrieval processes.
