Job summary

Balfour Beatty US is seeking motivated college students for our Summer 2027 Internship Program in Washington State. This internship offers hands-on exposure to project budgeting, safety and quality control, and collaboration with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

You will learn company procedures, review submittal data, and help coordinate deliveries and schedules while developing essential construction management skills in a real project environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Construction Technology program.
• Prior commercial construction internships or work experience is helpful but not required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and good self-organization.

Responsibilities

• Learn about managing the project budget by controlling expenditures and coordinating owner and subcontractor billings.
• Learn about Safety and Quality Control programs and coordinate actions to address problems.
• Learn about company procedures and the office processes per Operations Manual.
• Learn how to review and process submittal data and shop drawings.
• Understand how to coordinate submittals, deliveries and other items affecting project schedule with the Superintendent.
• Monitor status reports and meeting minutes to understand the process.
• Learn how changes, clarifications, directives, RFIs are updated on as-built plans and coordinated with supervision and subcontractors.
• Maintain RFI logs and change request logs.
