Job summary

Balfour Beatty in the Northwest is seeking motivated college students for our Summer 2027 Internship Program in Washington State. This internship offers hands-on experience in project budgeting, safety, quality control, and coordination with owners, architects, and subcontractors.

You will learn to review submittal data, track project progress, and support office operations while developing essential skills for a career in construction management.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a Construction Management, Construction Engineering or Construction Technology program.
• Preferred: prior commercial construction internships or work experience.
• Strong computer skills and ability to handle office tasks.

Responsibilities

• Learn budget management by monitoring expenditures and coordinating billings.
• Assist with Safety and Quality Control programs and address issues.
• Familiarize with office procedures and the Operations Manual.
• Review submittal data and shop drawings.
• Coordinate submittals and deliveries affecting the project schedule.
• Review status reports, change orders and meeting minutes.
• Understand change proposals and updates on as-built plans.
• Maintain RFI and change request logs.
