Job summary

W.E. O’Neil Construction in Pleasanton, CA seeks an entry-level Assistant Project Engineer to support the project team with admin and engineering tasks. The role offers an internship path and practical experience with CMiC, PlanGrid, RFIs, submittals, and closeout work.

You will assist in maintaining logs, coordinating meetings, and supporting procurement activities while developing foundational construction administration skills on active projects.

Qualifications

• Entry-level position designed for undergraduate students and those aiming to grow into a management role.
• Proficiency in basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Basic understanding of scheduling and CMiC applications
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Understanding of construction administration processes, including docs, schedules, RFIs, submittals and procurement

Responsibilities

• Assist with job office setup and organization.
• Assist with initial CMiC setup, Submittal Logs, and RFI Logs.
• Prepare and maintain Submittal Logs and RFI Logs in CMiC.
• Assist with PlanGrid for organizing project documents.
• Assist with progress photo documentation in PlanGrid.
• Enter RFIs into CMiC and distribute to team members.
• Post RFIs to Contract Documents and update as-builts.
• Support material procurement logging and expedites materials/equipment.
• Help compile closeout documents (OM manuals, as-builts).
• Attend project meetings and distribute minutes.
• Assist in creating closeout binders and meeting minutes.
