Job summary

Herzog Contracting Corp. is seeking a Project Engineer in Kearny, NJ. The role focuses on supporting the Project Manager and field teams, with duties including reviewing shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and ensuring materials, labor, and equipment are properly coded and procured.

The position requires reading drawings and specifications, strong communication, and teamwork. The project is Sawtooth; salary ranges from $105,000 to $150,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package.

• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; experience with Procore is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and act as support for the field.
• Know the contractual obligations that Herzog has with the client and vice versa.
• Review and log shop drawings; assist field engineers with processing of submittals and RFIs.
• Code materials, labor and equipment.
• Procurement and timely delivery of materials to the project.
• Process material submittals and RFIs.
• Assist with Subcontract administration
• Acquire and assist with closing construction-related permits
• Regular and consistent engagement, participation and promotion of Herzog’s Culture and its essential behaviors are a requirement for this position
• Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are a requirement for this position.
• Other duties as assigned.
