Job summary

Allied Construction Group in New Jersey is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the Construction Manager by reviewing plans and specs, coordinating submittals, and tracking quantities daily.

You will prepare shop drawings, assist with permits, manage costs, and support field teams to keep projects safe, on schedule, and within budget. This role requires 0–4 years' experience, a BS in engineering or construction management, and strong communication and computer skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills.
• Strong analysis and critical thinking skills.
• Deadline- and detail-oriented.
• Strong computer skills in Excel, Word, Microsoft Project, or Primavera.
• 0-4 years' experience as a Construction Project Engineer.

Responsibilities

• Thoroughly reviews Plans and Specifications; understands contract components.
• Prepares submittal schedule and submits to the PM for review.
• Compiles quantities and verifies pay estimates with the inspector weekly.
• Prepares Daily Work Reports with the superintendent.
• Assists PM with vendor communications, purchase orders, and invoices.
• Prepares shop drawings/sketches to facilitate field work.
• Prepares a master list of permits and call before you dig requirements.
• Supports CPM scheduling and critical path understanding.
• Attends progress and jobsite coordination meetings.
• Maintains red-line as-builts and coordinates closeout submittals.
