Job summary

Johnson, Mirmiran & Thompson is seeking a motivated project team member to assist with construction oversight, interpreting contract documents, and coordinating activities under limited supervision on diverse projects. The role supports project managers, reads drawings and reports, and helps maintain schedules, budgets, and quality standards in both field and office environments.

Requires a bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering or related field, 0–5 years of experience, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil or mechanical engineering, construction management, architectural or related field.
• 0 to 5 years’ experience in a construction related discipline.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, scheduling and coordinating work across project phases.
• Read and interpret construction documents such as drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, testing and inspection reports.
• Monitor project progress to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
• Prepare reports and logs (daily inspector reports, cost to date, estimates to complete).
• Assist with quantity surveys and take-offs from documents and in-place work.
• Assist in preparation of budgets and estimates; prepare contract plans and specifications.
• Attend meetings and distribute minutes; coordinate with team members to meet milestones and quality guidelines.
