Job summary

Corti Construction, Inc. in Redmond, WA seeks a Construction Project Engineer to join a mid-sized, woman-owned GC focused on Tenant Improvements and specialty work for premier clients in the Seattle area.

You will coordinate with field teams, clients, and subcontractors, manage RFIs/submittals, and support project management while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • MS Office knowledge; AutoCAD, Bluebeam and Viewpoint Trimble are a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of Design-Build techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain relationships with field supervisors, clients, subcontractors, and team members.
  • Coordinate with project field personnel, architects, designers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Identify workplace safety hazards and take corrective action.
  • Generate RFIs and submittals.
  • Manage subcontractors, procurement, budget, and billings.
  • Act as information hub for project to office and field.
  • Ensure work complies with codes, drawings, specs.
  • Prepare and execute subcontracts and change orders.
  • Monitor quality control metrics and report findings.
  • Support other project engineers and field supervision.
  • May manage project schedule with superintendent and assemble closeout docs.

We do Tenant Improvement and other specialty work for premier clients throughout the Seattle/Puget Sound area.

Duties will be varied, as we are still growing. They may include:

  • Develop and maintain great working relationships with field supervisors, clients, subcontractors, consultants and other team members.
  • Coordinate with project field personnel, architects, designers, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Identify workplace safety hazards and take necessary corrective action to eliminate or minimize them.
  • Responsible for generating Requests for Information (RFI) and submittals.
  • Manage project subcontractors including coordination, procurement of materials and equipment, monitoring budget and cost, manage billings, etc.
  • Act as the “information hub” for project to office and field personnel to ensure continuity of work.
  • Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare and execute subcontracts and subcontractor change orders including time extensions. May prepare and execute owner change orders.
  • Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to PM or Superintendent as appropriate.
  • Inspect work to assure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Support other Project Engineers, team members in field supervision and project management roles.
  • May be responsible for managing project schedule with the project Superintendent. Assemble or supervise closeout information, as-builts, warranties, etc.

Education & Experience

  • Excellent teamwork, problem solving, and communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or Engineering preferred, or equivalent combination of education & experience.
  • Full knowledge of computer software such as MS Office. Auto-CAD, Bluebeam and/or Viewpoint Trimble a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of Design Build techniques.

Compensation:

  • Base Salary Range: $82,000 - $100,000
