Job summary

Chesapeake Contracting Group seeks a Construction Engineer to manage site information, liaise with architects and subcontractors, and ensure drawings align with estimates. You will oversee submittals, shop drawings, and changes, driving projects to meet schedule and budget.

Responsibilities include close-out documentation, scope development for trades, and coordinating meetings. A bachelor’s in engineering or construction management and 1+ year experience are preferred, with travel to sites as

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
• 1+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
• Experience with construction management software (MS Excel/Word/Project, Procore) or similar.
• Valid driver's license to travel to sites.
• Strong problem solving, prioritization and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication, able to present complex information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Liaise with architects, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and inspectors.
• Oversee drawings and subcontract information; ensure alignment with estimates.
• Manage submittals, shop drawings and ensure conformance to specs.
• Negotiate change orders and analyze adjustments for accuracy.
• Oversee close-out process; prepare RFI, warranties, and OMs.
• Prepare Scope of Work for trades and develop project reports.
• Schedule and attend coordination meetings and reviews.
