Southland Industries in Columbus, OH is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to coordinate all phases of the construction job costing, billing, and cost analysis on a large project, partnering with the Project Manager to manage risk. The role includes monitoring budgets, processing invoices, preparing monthly reports with estimates, and mentoring junior staff, with a focus on accuracy and confidentiality.

• Excellent accounting knowledge

Responsibilities

• Compiles, prepares and analyzes monthly project billings per contract requirements for more complex accounts
• Monitors budgets and commitments, processing subcontractor and vendor invoices, preparing drafts of owner invoices, and resolving issues
• Partners with the project manager and other team members to monitor overall job financial status
• Collaborates by preparing for and attending progress and division meetings
• Prepares monthly reports with current estimates and identifies risks or opportunities
• Prepares special analyses as required
• Serves as mentor and provides training to or supervise less-experienced Project Accountants
