Job summary

My City Transportation, based in Houston, TX, is seeking an Assistant Project Manager (Construction) to support transmission and distribution construction projects. You will coordinate field operations, monitor schedules, and help ensure safety, quality, and on-time delivery.

Reporting to the project manager, you will assist with planning, budgeting, documentation, and coordination with subcontractors and vendors to keep projects within scope and budget while maintaining strong client

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent construction experience.
• 3+ years of construction or project coordination experience, preferably in transmission and distribution or utility projects.
• Working knowledge of project scheduling, document control, and cost management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with project management software is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively (up to 100%).

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily coordination of construction activities and field operations.
• Support project planning, scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company and client standards.
• Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and material deliveries.
• Maintain project documentation, RFIs, submittals, permits, and change orders.
• Track project progress and provide regular updates to project leadership.
• Help manage quality control, contract administration, and project closeout activities.
• Build positive relationships with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
• Perform additional project-related duties as assigned.
