Job summary

Turner & Townsend in Boston, MA seeks a Capital Project Coordinator to partner with the Project Manager to deliver projects safely and on time on client campuses. This on-site role requires navigating permits, safety, and coordination with fire marshals and facilities teams.

You'll manage multiple projects, report progress to the Project Coordinator Team Lead, and uphold our zero-incident safety culture while ensuring vendors and subcontractors meet quality and schedule expectations on occupied

Qualifications

• Experience with building systems integration and site coordination is preferred.
• Knowledge of safety and permitting processes is advantageous.
• Experience coordinating with fire marshal or similar authorities is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Issue and monitor work permits to ensure daily activities align with policies.
• Maintain zero-incident safety culture across projects.
• Monitor work activities and verify compliance with permits.
• Coordinate with project team and client representatives, including fire marshal, on material laydown.
• Develop and implement a Facility Protection Plan to minimize disruption in occupied areas.
• Manage vendors and service providers to ensure timely, quality work.
• Provide regular updates and reports on hours, permits issued and safety events.

About the Role

The Capital Project Coordinator's primary responsibility is to represent CBRE/Turner & Townsend by working with the Project Manager to successfully and safely deliver a project to our clients in a manner that exceeds their expectations.

This role is on-site at our client's campus in Boston, MA.

What You'll Do:

• Issue, monitor, and control CBRE/Turner & Townsend and client specific work permits which ensure daily work initiatives are delivered in a manner aligned with all local policies and procedures.
• Ensure all projects are carried out in a manner consistent with our CBRE/Turner & Townsend Zero Incident safety culture.
• Monitor work activities throughout the workday on your assigned projects and ensure work activities are being carried out in a manner consistent with the published work permit(s).
• Work closely with the project team and client representatives, including fire marshal, to ensure project material is properly stowed in acceptable laydown areas.
• Work closely with the Project Manager and carry out a Facility Protection Plan to minimize impact of construction activities within occupied areas of a building.
• Ensure direct, indirect, and / or outsourced service providers and vendors provide consistent, high-quality services.
• Maintain healthy relationships with external consultants and vendors while holding them accountable in delivering their scope of work in a timely and consistent fashion.
• Possess a strong ability to multitask while supporting numerous projects at any given time.
• Regularly provide informal updates and formal reports to the Project Coordinator Team Lead as it relates to hours worked, number of permits issued, and safety events for your projects.
• Possess the ability to solve advanced problems resulting from complex situations.
• Position requires some overtime and weekend work.

• Experience in Building Management Systems (Metasys)
• Experience in Electrical Building Systems (120v-480v)
• Experience in Mechanical Building Systems (AHU, Exhaust Fans, Etc.)
• Experience in Plumbing Building Systems (HHW, DI water, Domestic water, Etc.)
• Experience in Steam Building Systems (Clean Steam Generators, Steam provided heat, Etc.)
• Experience in Research Lab Protocol
• Experience in Customer Service
• Experience in Gensuite or similar software
• Experience in Construction or Construction Management
• Osha 10 or 30 Certified
