Job summary

Johnson Construction Group in the Metro Atlanta area is seeking a Project Coordinator to support our commercial and residential construction operations. You will work under PMs and the General Superintendent, keeping documentation current and moving between our Newnan office and active jobsites.

This role is coordination and documentation only, with no budget responsibility or management duties, offering a clear path into PM or Superintendent roles for those who earn it.

Qualifications

• Construction knowledge is required and you should know what happens on a jobsite.
• Prior experience as Project Coordinator, Construction Admin, or related role is preferred.
• Strong computer skills, especially Excel.
• Ability to read construction drawings, scopes of work, and project documents.
• Excellent organization and follow-through; nothing gets dropped.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Honesty and openness to feedback.
• A related degree is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and update project schedules built by the PM.
• Keep electronic and physical project files organized and current.
• Track material orders, delivery dates, lead times, and approvals.
• Assemble submittals, RFIs, POs, permits, and inspection records.
• Prepare and distribute meeting notes and project updates.
• Collect pricing and information from subcontractors as directed.
• Visit jobsites to document progress and note punch lists.
• Produce clean field sketches and usable markups.
• Flag missing information and potential delays.
• Follow up on action items until closed.
• Perform other project coordination duties as assigned.
