Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an Engineering Intern in Houston, TX, to assist with standard design techniques and project duties under senior engineers. The role involves updating designs, applying engineering methods, and supporting construction-phase services across multiple market segments.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor's in Construction Management or Engineering, with a 3.0 GPA, prior internship experience, and strong communication, problem-solving and leadership skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or related field from an accredited program.
• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
• Minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related experience preferred.
• Involvement on campus or in the community.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status.

Responsibilities

• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures to design and update engineering systems.
• Assist lead engineers with various project duties and responsibilities.
• Support construction-focused activities within market segments, including safety, health, estimating, and project management.
