Job summary

Gilbane Building Company seeks a mid-level Construction Accountant responsible for project accounting, forecasting, and interfacing with project teams, clients, and subcontractors. This role is office-based with some site visits to support field teams on small to mid-sized projects.

You will collaborate with project managers to monitor budgets, WIP, and cost control, ensuring compliance with policies and timely financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires bachelor's degree in accounting/finance/business or related field.
• Experience in CM or General Contractor environment preferred.
• Strong communication and analytical skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides accounting support for project management teams.

• Prepare and process owner pay applications and related billing documentation.
• 2
• Reviews Work in Process (WIP) and explains variances and balances.
• 3
• Ensures compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
• 4
• Support Senior Project Accountant with financial reporting.
• 5
• Process and track accounts payable/receivable and ensure timely payments.
• 6
• Prepare, submit, and monitor vendor payments with project teams and clients.
• 7
• Manage contracts, amendments, insurance, bonds, SOV, files, and Co-Policies.
• 8
• Review requisitions and lien waivers.
• 9
• Develop relationships internally & externally.
• 10
• Own assigned tasks and contribute to ad hoc financial activities as needed.
