Job summary

Clayco is seeking an Accounting Manager to lead the Project Accounting team and ensure accurate, timely owner billings in accordance with contract terms. The role partners with Operations and leadership to drive strong financial management and policy adherence.

Qualifications include a 4-year degree in accounting/finance, 10+ years in construction accounting, and 3+ years of supervisory experience. Expect a fast-paced, collaborative environment with a strong focus on process improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 10+ years of accounting experience within the construction industry.
• Minimum of three years of supervisory or people management experience.
• Strong knowledge of construction accounting including job cost, WIP, owner billing, revenue recognition, AR, AP, and closeout.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and coach diverse employees.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop Project Accounting team members with day-to-day oversight.
• Ensure owner billings are accurate and comply with contractual requirements.
• Monitor billing status and resolve issues that delay submissions.
• Oversee Project Accounting for multiple projects and review Preconstruction costs.
• Review monthly WIP and intercompany reconciliations; provide financial commentary.
