KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing represents a client seeking an experienced Project Accounting & Financial Planning Manager to lead project financial operations and partner with Project Management, Operations, and Executive Leadership.

This role turns project data into actionable insights that improve forecasting, margins, profitability, and financial performance, while developing a high-performing accounting team and ensuring GAAP and ASC 606 compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably construction or project accounting.
• 5+ years of leadership experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop Project Accountants and billing professionals.
• Oversee job costing, WIP, budgeting, and forecasting.
• Analyze project margins, cost variances, and financial risks.
• Manage progress billing, retainage, and project invoicing.
• Review cost-to-complete estimates and margin projections.
• Ensure GAAP and ASC 606 compliance.
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to Operations and leadership.
• Improve financial processes, controls, reporting, and ERP utilization.

What You’ll Do

• Lead and develop Project Accountants and billing professionals
• Oversee job costing, WIP, budgeting, and forecasting
• Analyze project margins, cost variances, and financial risks
• Manage progress billing, retainage, and project invoicing
• Review cost-to-complete estimates and margin projections
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and ASC 606
• Provide financial analysis and recommendations to Operations and leadership
• Improve financial processes, controls, reporting, and ERP utilization

What We’re Looking For

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 10+ years of accounting experience, preferably construction or project accounting
• 5+ years of leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of WIP, job costing, forecasting, GAAP, and ASC 606
• ERP experience; COINS preferred
• Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
