Job summary

Journey Group, a full-service construction company based in Sioux Falls, SD, is seeking a Project Accountant to manage WIP reporting across divisions. You will partner with project managers to analyze costs, monitor variances, and support accurate financial reporting, while handling project-related administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or two-year equivalent in business administration, accounting, or related field, and a minimum of five (5) years of accounting and finance-related experience required.
• Accounting experience in the construction industry strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Compile the WIP report and reconcile it to the general ledger.
• Research discrepancies, issues, and large variances.
• Ensure the accuracy of job costing and maintain accurate phase codes.
• Verify payroll is allocated to the correct place at the correct rate and perform allocations to jobs.
• Provide support for the annual audit process and pull documentation for owner project audits.
• Set up new jobs in the ERP system and ensure proper documentation is maintained.
• Close out jobs as needed and perform other duties as assigned.
