Job summary

Fts Inc is seeking a seasoned project accountant to manage full-cycle cost accounting for multiple roofing and construction projects. You will handle WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion calculations, and subcontractor invoicing, ensuring accurate budgeting and close processes.

The role requires 5+ years in construction accounting, proficiency with Sage Intacct/Sage 100, and strong Excel skills. You will partner with project teams and assist with audits and ERP optimization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project/construction accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or related field.
• Knowledge of WIP schedules and percentage-of-completion.
• Hands-on with Sage 100 Contractor and/or Sage Intacct.
• Advanced Excel skills with pivots and lookups.
• CPA licensure a plus or in progress.

Responsibilities

• Maintain full-cycle job cost accounting for multiple projects.
• Prepare and analyze monthly WIP schedules and revenue recognition.
• Review and code subcontractor and vendor invoices; manage retainage and change orders.
• Reconcile job cost ledgers to the general ledger; post month/year-end entries.
• Monitor budgets vs actuals and communicate variances to leadership.
• Support cash flow forecasting and project-level profitability reporting.
• Assist Billing Coordinator with owner billing submissions and AIA applications.
• Track lien waivers, certificates of insurance, and notices.
• Support ERP system Sage Intacct and external audits.
• Collaborate with project managers and superintendents on budget setup and close-out.
• Mentor junior staff and work cross-functionally with Operations and Corporate Accounting.
