Ryan Companies in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Construction Project Accountant to support our Mission Critical sector. This role handles financial and reporting for assigned construction projects, including invoices, billings, contract administration, and ensuring internal controls.

You'll work with the construction accounting team and Project Managers to project costs, perform analyses, and maintain audit trails to satisfy owner and regulatory requirements. Competitive benefits included.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of accounting and administrative experience in a commercial environment.
• 2 years in the construction industry.
• Bachelor's degree in accounting and/or business-related field.
• Strong organizational & analytical skills with knowledge of invoicing and audit procedures.
• Ability to collaborate within a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop, understand, and document knowledge of each construction project including owner contract requirements.
• Create and administer owner billings to schedule and timekeeping requirements.
• Proactive collection of open receivables.
• Perform proactive project cost review and analysis.
• Support Cost Project Manager with monthly financial projections and cost event management.
• Develop processes to meet compliance requirements with proper audit trail.
• Communicate with Project Managers and Directors on job requirements.
• Administer prime contractor processes including insurance and registrations.
• Provide internal and external customer support and service.
• Respond quickly to accounting questions or issues.
• Maintain web-based project management system.
• Manage accounting and contract closeout with owner on projects.
