Job summary

Balfour Beatty US in Sacramento, CA, seeks a Project Accountant to provide primary accounting and administrative support for a construction project from startup through closeout. You will act as the liaison between the jobsite and the finance department, ensuring procedures are followed and key reports are prepared.

Responsibilities include entering financial paperwork, processing payables and subcontracts, billings to owners, and maintaining project cost systems.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred (or equivalent experience).
• 2+ years of experience, preferably in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in basic accounting principles and procedures.
• Solid customer service and verbal/written communication skills.
• Ability to be a team player in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Provides project status information and communicates between field and corporate office.
• Ensures job cost and AR reports balance with the general ledger.
• Enters financial paperwork to ensure timely, accurate job-cost data.
• Processes owner/subcontractor billings, change orders, PO invoices, payroll, and AP.
• Maintains subcontractor insurance certificates and purchasing registers.
• Maintains filing for EEO/MBE requirements and assists admin tasks.
