Job summary

Pepper Construction is seeking a Project Accountant to drive project finances through accurate owner billings and tight cost control. You will partner with project teams to ensure timely billings, reconcile costs, and uphold internal controls while supporting closeout and final reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in accounting/finance, construction cost accounting experience, and proficiency in CMiC or similar ERP systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related business discipline.
• Experience in project or job cost accounting, preferably in construction.
• Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities.
• Solid understanding of billing requirements and project accounting processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and multitasking ability.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work independently and in a team.
• CMiC accounting software experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Review contracts and identify billing requirements.
• Analyze and process job costs per internal controls.
• Coordinate billing with project teams and reconcile costs.
• Identify unbilled or late-billed costs and notify stakeholders.
• Coordinate subcontractor payments in exchange for waivers.
• Review and compile waiver packages.
• Support closeout and reconcile project profit and loss.
• Monitor subcontractor insurance compliance.
• Understand cash flow impact on project performance.
