Job summary

SLSCO LTD is seeking a Construction Project Accountant to oversee financial functions on assigned projects, including AP, AR, and contract billing compliance. You will work with project teams and report to the SLS Northeast Controller, ensuring timely, accurate project reporting in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in construction accounting, strong cost accounting understanding, and proficiency with MS Office, CMiC, Textura, and G702/G703 AIA Billing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years of experience in operational construction accounting.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Strong understanding of cost accounting.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and Excel.
• Experience with CMiC and Textura preferred.
• Knowledge of G702/G703 AIA Billing required.

Responsibilities

• Helps ensure timeliness and accuracy of the project reports.
• Assist in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Review and audit vendor invoices for accuracy and required backup per contract
• Review, analyze, and set up billing rates and terms per contracts
• Assist in preparing client invoices
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
• Follow system controls to ensure data integrity
• Review projects financial data monthly for data completeness
• Assist in gathering data for month-end close reporting
• Assist in ERP conversion/implementation testing and training
• Support management in special projects and ad-hoc reporting
• Other duties as assigned

Job description

We are seeking a Construction Project Accountant to work directly with the project teams to oversee the financial functions necessary for profitable completion of the assigned project(s). The Construction Project Accountant has responsibility for AP, AR, and project compliances. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, an effective communicator, familiar with the construction industry, and able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Project Accountant position will report directly to the SLS Northeast Controller, or their designee.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Helps to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the project reports
• Assist in Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions
• Review and audit vendor invoices for accuracy and required backup per contract
• Properly review, analyze, and set up billing rates and terms per contracts
• Assists in preparing client invoices
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements
• Follow system controls to ensure data integrity
• Review projects financial data monthly to ensure completeness of the data
• Assists in gathering data for reporting during the month-end close process
• Assists in ERP conversion/implementation testing and participation in training sessions
• Support management in completing special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests, and other tasks as assigned
• Other duties as assigned

Ideal Position Requirements
