Job summary

Barlovento-LLC in the United States seeks a Procurement Specialist to solicit items and services for construction projects from qualified suppliers, maximizing value through competitive sourcing.

You will interface with the in-house estimating and proposal staff, maintain a database of subcontractors and vendors, support bids, and build strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Construction background
• Ability to read analyze and interpret blueprints, procedures, and specs
• Experience with SMARTBids, ShareFile, and the federal marketplace
• Understanding of the FAR or federal project requirements
• Experience managing a wide range of equipment and suppliers

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a database of subcontractors and vendors
• Follow proper sourcing processes and controls for procurement opportunities
• Ensure all solicitations and project docs are loaded into the procurement database
• Ensure adequate subcontractor coverage for bids in all disciplines
• Build and maintain relationships with subcontractors and vendors
• Communicate with project estimators and provide information for projects
• Lead sourcing categories with the Estimating team
• Perform supplier research and identification
• Suggest creative solutions to support sourcing projects
• Solicit bids from small-business subcontractors and track past performance
• Meet deadlines for bids and adapt to changes
