Job summary

A-C Electric Company in Bakersfield, CA offers the Internship Experience Program—a 10-week, hands-on learning path in procurement, supply chain management and logistics within the electrical construction industry.

You will work with purchasing and project management teams, gain real-world experience in vendor negotiations, inventory control, and ERP systems, and build professional skills through mentorship and networking opportunities.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a college or university with expected graduation by August 2029.
• Available to work full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks in Summer 2027.
• Relocation to Bakersfield, CA for the duration of the internship.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing materials, tools, and equipment for active electrical construction projects.
• Research and qualify vendors and suppliers based on cost, quality, and lead times.
• Support the negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Track and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and backorders to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist in inventory control processes to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
• Help maintain and update procurement records in ERP systems such as Spectrum and Procore.
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure material requirements are met.
• Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills.
• Contribute to a LEAN project focused on improving procurement or supply chain processes.
