Job summary

AC Electric Company invites motivated students to join the Internship Experience Program focused on procurement, supply chain management, and logistics within the electrical construction industry.

During the 10-week program, you will work with purchasing and project management teams to learn sourcing, vendor negotiation, and material delivery for large projects. Relocation to Bakersfield, CA is required, and mentorship plus LEAN project involvement are provided.

Qualifications

• Full-time availability for 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Enrollment as a college or university student with expected graduation by August 2029.

Responsibilities

• Assist in sourcing materials, tools, and equipment for active electrical construction projects.
• Research and qualify vendors and suppliers based on cost, quality, and lead times.
• Support the negotiation of pricing and terms with suppliers.
• Track and manage purchase orders, delivery schedules, and backorders to ensure timely delivery.
• Assist in inventory control processes to optimize stock levels and reduce waste.
• Help maintain and update procurement records in ERP systems such as Spectrum and Procore.
• Coordinate with project managers and field teams to ensure material requirements are met.
• Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills.
• Contribute to a LEAN project focused on improving procurement or supply chain processes, presenting findings to senior leadership.
