A-C Electric Company offers a 2027 Accounting & Finance Summer Internship in Bakersfield, CA. This 10-week program provides hands-on experience in payroll, payables, receivables, month-end close, and financial analytics within a growing electrical construction environment.

You will work with seasoned accountants and project managers, gain exposure to Spectrum and Procore, and participate in a Lean project culminating in a leadership presentation.

Qualifications

• Full-time (40 hours/week) for 10 weeks during Summer 2027.
• Enrolled student with expected graduation on or before August 2028.

Responsibilities

• Assist in processing accounts payable and receivable with accurate coding and timely payment.
• Support payroll processing for field and office personnel, including certified payroll for government contracts.
• Help prepare project budgets, forecasts, and cost tracking reports.
• Reconcile vendor statements and assist in resolving discrepancies.
• Participate in month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare financial and operational reports for project teams and senior leadership.
• Learn and utilize Spectrum and Procore accounting/project management tools.
• Participate in Book Club assignments to build leadership and communication skills.
• Contribute to a LEAN project related to financial processes or reporting improvements and present to leaders.
