Job summary

Kent Companies is seeking a Project Manager to lead construction projects in the Austin area. You will coordinate with operations leadership to plan, budget, and schedule milestones, ensuring client satisfaction and safety standards.

The role requires strong budgeting, scheduling, and contract administration skills, with frequent interactions with clients and subcontractors to resolve issues and keep projects on track. Travel to local sites around Austin is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management; 5–8 years in construction management.
• CIM degree preferred; ability to plan construction projects and budgets using software.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings; perform quantity take-offs and cost estimates.
• Experience building relationships with subcontractors and vendors.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• US work authorization required (no sponsorship).

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct project activities with Directors/General Superintendents.
• Review contracts and ensure adherence to company policies.
• Manage financial aspects of contracts and maintain good client relations.
• Set project objectives, procedures, and performance standards with senior staff.
• Interface with clients to manage changes, issues, or disputes.
• Monitor and control project progress to meet schedule and budget.
• Investigate issues and implement corrective measures with the team.
• Generate and submit change order requests within contract terms.
• Approve supplier/subcontractor invoices, and assist in creating POs.
• Identify and mitigate risks and manage project budgets and costs.
• Prepare reports on work progress, costs, and scheduling.
• Requisition supplies and interpret plans for staff and clients.
• Represent the company at industry events and client meetings.
