Job summary

A&E + SMA Design seeks an experienced Construction Project Manager III/IV to lead construction phase services for diverse projects in Bozeman and southwest Montana. You will act as the owner's advocate and primary PM for the design team, coordinating submittals, RFIs, changes, and closeout activities.

The role requires coordinating with owners, contractors, consultants, and internal teams, mentoring junior staff, and traveling to project sites. Office, field, and client meetings are involved.

Qualifications

• Degree in construction-related field preferred.
• 6+ years in construction management or related roles.
• Experience across commercial/public/institutional projects.
• Knowledge of contracts and construction delivery methods.
• Able to read architectural/engineering plans and specs.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Lead construction phase services from kickoff to closeout for multiple projects.
• Advocate for the owner and serve as primary PM with design team.
• Oversee submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay certifications.
• Conduct constructability reviews and improve project quality.
• Monitor budget, schedule, and risk; document progress and issues.
• Lead meetings and coordinate owners, contractors, consultants, and teams.
• Mentor junior staff and support other PMs in the studio.
