Job summary

Thayer Infrastructure is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to manage weekly payroll for field crews and staff across multi-state operations. The role ensures accurate calculations of overtime, bonuses, and deductions while maintaining compliance with wage and hour laws.

Responsibilities include reviewing timesheets, coordinating job costing with project managers, and handling payroll records and garnishments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in construction, utilities, or infrastructure services.
• Experience processing payroll for field employees and multi-state operations.
• Knowledge of payroll systems and Excel capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Process weekly payroll for field and office employees, including hourly and salaried workers.
• Accurately calculate overtime, prevailing wages (if applicable), bonuses, and deductions.
• Review and verify timesheets from field crews, foremen, and supervisors.
• Coordinate with project managers and operations teams for job costing and labor allocation.
• Maintain payroll records, including tax forms, direct deposits, and benefit deductions.
• Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws across multiple states.
• Process garnishments and other wage attachments.
• Respond to payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
• Assist with internal and external payroll audits.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of payroll information.
